Epoxy Gal-coat – High Temp. 148°C
SG 166 GM / SD 902 High temperature resistant epoxy gel-coat
Set 4KG+0.96KG
Weight ratio 100 / 24 g

SG 166 GM has a viscosity suitable for brush application.
Cure at room temperature, a post-cure is required before release.
Excellent thermal resistance after post-cure.
Good abrasion resistance.
Recommended for manufacturing of mould with a service temperature of 130°C max.

Advantages
– Late overlay of gelcoat.
– Less print of fibers
– Very good adhesion between gelcoat and laminate.

Post curing cycles
Apply the same post-cure cycle as the one recommended for the resin used in the laminate.
A minimum of 12 h at 60°C is generally required before release from the pattern. After release, complete gradually the post-cure with higher temperature.

Laminating
The laminate can start when the gel is still tacky, or later if the gel has been overlay by a surface veil as Armstrim 50, in order to create a mechanical key.

It is stable up to 400°C

Application
1. Apply Cirex Si 019 to clean the mould
2. Apply 1-2 coats of sealer on a new or scoured composite mould,
and any other support showing microporosity
3. Apply 4-6 coats of release agent  every 10mn
4. Soak-in a cotton cloth and treat ½ m² by ½ m², buff nicely for 20 seconds
maximum after you have applied and before the release agent is dry.
5. Wait 1 hour minimum before moulding the 1st piece
6. Re apply a thin coat after few mouldings and before contamination of the mould
